Bhangi Misl, Ghanda Singh Dhillon (VS 1831-1833/1774-1776 AD), Multan Dar-ul-Aman Mint, Silver Rupee, First Sikh occupationof Multan, VS 1832 ‘Gobindshahi’ Couplet, Obv: Persian legend “deg tegh fath nusrat be dirang yaft az nanak guru gobind singh”, Rev:Persian legend “sana julus”, “zarb Multan” with epithet “Dar ul Aman” at the top & Vikram Samvat year with leaf symbol,11.46g, 20.65mm, (KM # 83, Herrli # 11.01.04), about very fine, Exceedingly Rare.

Note: Under the Bhangi Misl chiefs, brothers Jhanda and Ghanda Singh Dhillon, the Sikh Empire captured Lahore in VS 1822 and seized Multanon 25th December 1772 AD (VS 1829). Amritsar mint first issued their coins in VS 1832. Most of the Sikh coins of first occupation of Multan, which lasted for nine years, were melted by Timur Shah Durrani and therefore only few coins still survive. Second occupation of Multan was notuntil VS 1875 under Ranjit Singh Lahore Durbar. The Sikh Empire was dissolved in 1905.
