Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Saltire standard, type 70, linear saltire with pellet ends, in beaded standard, pellet in each angle, tufa above, row of three pellets below, cross to each side, beaded border, rev. beaded standard, with diagonal to each corner, containing mirrored angular symbols around central annulet, radiate crown and trefoil above, cross pommée to other sides, 0.80g, 270° (Hill variety a/b; SL 13-160; SCBI 69, 728 this coin; T&S pp. 532-4, 436-7; Gannon 175, Fig. 5.22; North 55; Spink 833B plate coin), a really good very fine, rare.
