Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, 'Celtic Cross', type 14 (right), 'Hwiccian' style, diademed and 'bejewelled' draped bust right, round neckline, DE LVNOONIA+ around, rev. Celtic cross with broad limbs and central rosette forming a cross with the pellets on each limb, 0.99g (SL 27-30 plate coin; SCBI 69, 510 this coin; T&S pp. 426-32, 345-6; Gannon, pp. 53, no. 206; pp. 57, no. 227, 87, 101, no. 159, 162-3, 169, 189, no. 62, and Fig. 5.7c; Spink 822 plate coin), the portrait somewhat waterworn, otherwise almost very fine, the reverse considerably better, almost extremely fine and extremely rare.
