Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, 'Rosette' / K related, type 32b, diademed and bejewelled draped bust left, round neckline, two rosettes before and one behind, rev. serpent-headed 'wolf' coiled right, with bifurcated tongue, fangs and beaded teeth, quincunx below, beaded body surrounded by 'protective' snake and beaded border from 8 o'clock, 0.90g, 180° (SL 32-10 plate coin; SCBI 69, 524 this coin; T&S pp. 433-4, 347; Gannon 53, no. 206, 57, no. 227, 87, 101, no. 159, 162-3, 169, 189, no. 62, and Fig. 5.7c; Spink 823A plate coin), slightly porous surfaces and other minor flan faults, otherwise about very fine, the reverse better, extremely rare.
