Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Series O, type 40, round-shouldered standing figure with arms and shoulders separate from body, trefoil face, long tunic, feet right, rev. sinuous monster in flight (?) right, looking back, raised and curled tail, pellets in field, hirsute pellet outline, clawed foot below; foreleg raised above head, 0.81g, 270° (SL 55-20 plate coin; SCBI 69, 602 this coin; T&S pp. 477-81; North 114; Spink 807B), slightly rough surfaces, otherwise well-centred, very fine, rare.
