Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Animal Mask Group, feline or fox head facing, body in left field with pellet outline, 3 annulets in right field, 2 between ears and one between whiskers, rev. Seabird right, wings raised over back, feet splayed, trefoil tail, cross pommée before, double beaded border, 0.93g, 110° (SL 112-60 plate coin; Abramson, 2012b, plate; SCBI 69, 823 this coin; T&S pp. 446-8, 354-6; Gannon 133, 134-5, 185, Fig. 4.39; Spink 829 plate coin), some areas of deposit or delamination, and the reverse somewhat off-struck, otherwise toned, the central devices superbly crisp, about extremely fine, excessively rare.
