Anglo-Saxon England, Primary Series (680-710), Sceat, Series B (BIA/C), diademed head in clockwise serpent circle, starting at 7 o'clock, legend around, rev. bird right atop cross pattée, flanked by large annulets, beaded serpent circle clockwise, starting at 6 o'clock, 1.22g, 90° (SL 16-40; SCBI 69, 56 this coin; T&S pp. 94-105, 103-6; Gannon 36, 47, 48, no. 173, 107-10, 112, 136, 184, 184, no. 18, and Figs. 2.18a, 4.1b, and 4.5; North 126; Spink 777), lustrous with a dark overlying tone, almost extremely fine.
