Anglo-Saxon England, Primary Series (680-710), Sceat, Series B (BI variety), triple diademed head right, crescent ear, pointed nose, in anticlockwise serpent circle starting at 4 o'clock, corded-chain surrounds, rev. skeletal bird with modelled head right atop cross pattée, trefoil of berries before, flanked by large annulets, all within serpent circle starting at 4 o'clock, 1.17g, 315° (SL 16-50; SCBI 69, 60 this coin; T&S pp. 94-105, 100-6; Gannon 36, 47, 48, no. 173, 107-10, 112, 136, 184, 184, no. 18, and Figs. 2.18a, 4.1b, and 4.5; North 126; Spink 777), a handsome coin, almost extremely fine, rare.
