Although not fully legible, the reverse is unmistakeably signed 'Mallacius', a moneyer recorded from only five Bayeux-signature Tremisses (cf. Belfort 605-606 and Bibliotheque Nationale de France 299). His cross surmounts a globe and step and is further flanked by three stars - one at either side of the cross, and one above. This 'constellation' is also seen in some other emissions from north-western France (at Amiens, Avranches and Lisieux)
Estimate: £1500 - £1200
