Blacksmith Imitation of copper Nova Scotia 1/2 Penny Token ND XF Details (Environmental Damage) NGC, BL-29 (Extremely Rare), Co-361a. Plain edge. Coin alignment. Attributed to John Brown. The obverse has a laureate bust of George III right, while the reverse displays A crowned harp, facing left, within a wreath. The portrait, and the harp, are easily visible, but the legends only show scattered letters, which seem to say --PENNY TOKEN. Both sides show heavy corrosion and the obverse has the figure of a arrow scratched in at at approximately 2 o'clock. This is the token pictured in Charlton. Ex. Bowers and Merena sale of March 26-28, 1987, Lot 1103, where it was sold as part of the Warren Baker Collection of Blacksmith Tokens. The original auction ticket is included. The auction write-up states that there are only 4 pieces known. Exceedingly rare.
