Blacksmith copper "Peck's Patent/Machine Shop" 1/2 Penny Token ND AU50 Brown NGC, BL-47A2 (this coin), Wo-29. L-271A. Plain edge. Thick flan. A mule of two American Hard Times tokens by Canadian Blacksmiths. A superb example, with extra metal visible around the edges of the obverse. Both sides have slight peripheral striking weakness, as struck, with slight traces of mint luster, almost never seen in a Blacksmith token. Ex. Warren Baker Blacksmith Token Collection, where it was called, "The finest known example." This was sold on 3-27-87 as part of the Frederick B. Taylor Collection, Lot 1069.
