INDIA, Mogul, Aurangzeb Alamgir (A.H.1068-1118, A.D.1658-1707) silver half rupee, (7.16 g), Multan mint, 1076/9, (KM.294.x). Very fine, unlisted date and very rare. $$ Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection. The coin is heavier than expected, it comes from an unlisted mint for half rupees. In addition it has several schrof marks on the edge. The text ethnic is also much smaller than to be from a cut down rupee. Most unusual and a very interesting coin.
