ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.75 g), Charinaytes and Aristeas, issued 144-143 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 112-1 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus and forepart of horses to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, Demeter with torches to right, legend across **A QE*, to left **CARI/NAU/THS, SOD* overcut on **QEO/XE* downwards, to right **ARIS/TEA[S]*, on the amphora M over dot/**L*, below amphora **SO* all within olive wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 694h [same dies], Sv.Pl.61, 22 [same obv. die], HGC 4, 1602). Nearly extremely fine, slightly off centred on obverse.
