CILICIA, Mallos, (c.385-333 B.C.), silver stater, (10.35 g), obv. beardless male winged, in kneeling/running stance to left, holding solar disc with both hands, rev. swan walking to right, wings uplifted, lotus-flower before, retrograde from 2.00, M AP**L* O T A N, all within incuse circle, (cf.S.5559, SNG Levante 149 Pl.9, [This Coin], SNG France 377 [same dies], Casabonne Type 3, Traite II, 2, 1395, SNG von Aulock -). Toned, very fine, worn obverse die, very rare.

Ex Edoardo Levante Collection, sold in CNG Mail Bid Sale 66, 19 May 2004 (lot 559) with CNG ticket.
A similar example in good very fine without countermark in Triton XVIII (lot 49) realised $3500US.
