SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleukos VI Epiphanes Nikator, (97-94 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.23 g), issued 95/94 B.C., Antioch on the Orontes mint, obv. diademed head of Seleukos VI to right, dotted filleted border, rev. Zeus enthroned to left, holding Nike in right hand and long sceptre in left hand, on either side **BASILEWS SELEUKOU EPIFANOUS NIKATOPOS*, monogram above A in outer left, below throne C, all within laurel wreath, (S.7176, SC 2414.1e, SNG Spaer 2770, Houghton 369, SMA 424, HGC 9, 1268). Delightful gold and blue patination, slightly off centred on the obverse, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
