Alfred George Towner, born Waterloo, Sydney, NSW; confirmed on medal rolls which record the following - 4QMI 05Jun1900 to 13Jun1901; 5QIB 21Sep1901 to 26Mar1902; Doyle's Scouts 27Mar-31May1902.
Post war Alfred George Towner was the proprietor of a billiard saloon in the Valley in Brisbane, Queensland. In April 1906 he was arrested and charged with assaulting a customer in his billiard saloon but after going to court the case was dismissed. Then in July 1906 he was arrested and charged with having unlawfully killed a man however after a court appearance he was discharged. In September 1906 he was charged with receiving stolen goods but after a court hearing in which he referred to his service in the Boer War the charge was dismissed.
