TRIO: Military Medal (GVR type 1); British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1685A Pte W.D.Ridley 28/Aust Inf on first medal, 1685 Pte W.D.ridley 28 Bn A.I.F. on second and third medals. Impressed. Court mounted, extremely fine.

MM: LG 21Oct1918, CAG 12Feb1919 'During the attack south of Morlancourt near Albert, on the night of 10/11th June 1918, Private Ridley was guide for a carrying party. This party was caught under heavy machine gun and shell fire, and became separated. Under great difficulties Private Ridley managed to get his party together again, and still under heavy fire, made several trips. It was mainly owing to his efforts that a good supply of ammunition was got up to the guns, this enabling them to deal with local hostile enemy attacks'.
