A rare January 1st 1933 date is found on this 1 Dollar Straits Settlements note. At right is a portrait of King George V, with a watermark of a Tiger's head seen at the left. The reverse of the note displays a stalking Tiger at center with a bust of a woman's head seen at right.
A rare January 1st 1933 date is found on this 1 Dollar Straits Settlements note. At right is a portrait of King George V, with a watermark of a Tiger's head seen at the left. The reverse of the note displays a stalking Tiger at center with a bust of a woman's head seen at right.
This note appears to have had a freak encounter which has affected its ink above the King's head and with a blue circle found on the left side around the tiger watermark. These same characteristics are noticed on the reverse, including around the impression of the border. Minor foxing also noted for accuracy.
