JAPAN. 20 Yen, Year 3 (1870). Osaka Mint. Mutsuhito (Meiji). PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield.
Fr-45; KM-Y-13; JNDA-01-1. Mintage: 46,139. The first date of the 20 Yen, and the only date of the type that appears with any frequency. A particularly original example thereof, this piece exhibits some mottled reddish-orange coloration over the surfaces with instances of semi-reflective gleam residing in the fields. No marks of any consequence are seen, which aids in confirming the elite-level grade. Altogether, an excellent example for the collector who has been seeking a special example of the type with an appearance that differentiates itself from the homogenous appearance that these tend to possess.

From the Pinnacle Collection.

Estimate: $40000.00- $60000.00
