Fr-1 var. (full denomination spelled out); KM-Pn3. Struck to commemorate the 5th anniversary of independence. A RARE variant, quite possibly struck with pattern dies, that displays the 100 Francs denomination in abbreviation above the date rather than in its entirety along the bottom legend. While we have traced two examples of this type that have sold at auction, neither made mention that they were different than the standard issue. As such, a great opportunity for the collector of modern gold to add an almost never-seen item to their collection.
