(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. March 1854-July 1855). Board of Revenue Mint, eastern branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Certified "85" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.705. Weight: 34.4 gms. Fou bao, six stroke bei. "Xian Feng zhong bao"; Reverse: "Dang wushi". This very attractive and nicely preserved survivor exhibits well-formed high relief calligraphy with naturally rough surface texture that has the appearance of light tasteful smoothing in some of the open areas. This lovely example displays a combination of milk chocolate color on the high points with rich brown patination in the open areas and crevasses with minor earthen deposits offering a nice contrast that's pleasing to the eye sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
