(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 50 Cash, ND (ca. November 1853-March 1854). Board of Works Mint, old branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Certified "80" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.759; FD-2444. Weight: 54.6 gms. Er bao. "Xian Feng zhong bao"; Reverse: "Dang wushi". This nice wholesome and original looking large format issue displays attractive mottled brassy patina with richer coloration in the naturally rough fields and minor earthen deposits amongst the devices adding to its pleasing appearance. A couple of edge bruises, commonly encountered on these massive cast pieces, are noticed upon close inspection mention for accuracy, but are hardly distracting.
