(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Jiangsu. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-55). Suzhou or other local Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Certified "85" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.917. Weight: 59.1 gms. Medium bao, fou bao, seven stroke bei. "Xian Feng zhong bao"; Reverse: "Dang bai". This nicely preserved large size multiple Cash issue exhibits high relief calligraphy, naturally rough fields and relatively smooth rims displaying lovely rich brassy patina all accentuated by minor earthen deposits adding originality and charm. Some signs of handling are noticed on the high points, but the rims are intact save for one small edge bruise and a couple of small imperfections further increasing its desirability. This handsome example, with much to offer and a pleasing appearance, that collectors are actively seeking attractive survivors to add to their numismatic holdings worthy of serious consideration of many bidders.
