BMC-Class LXXXV Group D. Weight: 323.0. Added central stamp "Guang xu" (Emperor Guangxu). This charming and interesting example displays a central stamp that was added at a later time, not contemporaneously to the time of manufacture. Though this particular stamp is not listed in the BMC catalog; the author, Joe Cribb, states that similar stamps to this were added to blank ingots around the 1960s. The stamp is deeply applied though a natural void in the center has obscured parts of the characters. An interesting facet of the Sycee series great for academic study sure to add depth to the next collection it enters.
