CHINA. Dollar, ND (1916). PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield.
L&M-942; K-663; KM-Y-332; Hsu-16; WS-0097. Struck for the inauguration of Hung Hsien (Yuan Shih-kai) as emperor. Featuring the brief emperor in military attire and a tall plumed shako, this popular issue also depicts an imperial dragon, alluding to the symbol of the recently deposed Qing dynasty. Exceedingly brilliant and attractive, this type is VERY RARE in such elevated, alluring states of preservation as seen here. The obverse offers a mix golden-amber and other blends of iridescence, while the reverse remains largely argent save for a ring of character at the extremities.

Estimate: $40000.00- $60000.00
