CHINA. Dollar, ND (1924). PCGS MS-68 Gold Shield.
L&M-865; K-683; Hsu-25; WS-0107. Tuan Chi Jui type commemorating the "Peaceful Unification" of China. This tremendous example offers such impressively majestic quality that it is nearly impossible to convey its excessive RARITY when encountered so near perfection as is the case here. Fully radiant, extremely lustrous, and attractively toned with hues burnt sienna, sea foam green, and light cobalt, it should come as no surprise that this specimen is the sole finest example of the type certified at either of the two major services, with just two seen at the MS-67 level. A crown that will most assuredly set the record for the type, as the sole NGC MS-67 example--realizing a total of $53,775--last crossed the auction block nearly a decade prior in our August 2011 Hong Kong auction (lot 70388).

Estimate: $70000.00- $100000.00
