A trio of Maya stone celts from Guatemala, ca. 250 - 700 A.D. They range from 1-7/8" to 2-1/2" long and are made from highly polished green and black stone. These examples are votive pieces called "Tears of the Gods" and were thrown into the fields as offerings to agricultural deities. Nice examples with good mineral deposits.
