An antique polychrome terracotta figure of a reclining hoplite, late 19th Century. on integral rectangular base, the soldier is armored with crested helmet, resting on left arm, and holding a shield. The figure is gessoed and painted with good style and detail. 5 ? x 8 ? x 3 ? in. (14.6 x 21.6 x 8.9 cm). Some losses to base and repair to feet. Cf.
