A beautiful Gandharan stucco head from the Indus Valley, ca. 4th - 5th Century A.D. This superbly detailed sculpture is 2-3/4? high, is masterfully carved from stucco and depicts a young man with beautifully detailed coif. The sculpture shows the Greek stylistic influence on the local artisans. Traces of red pigment typical of the Hadda types are visible in his hair. In exceptional condition. Mounted on stand.
