The Magnentius ex Newmarket Hoard; the Constantine I AE 4 ex Longworth Hoard
The Greek coins do not feature in the binder, but the hemidrachm has ticket, auction catalogue listing description, and Glendining envelope (lot 200 sale 10/12/1986 - Ex Knoepke Collection). Roman coins 1 – 13 have pages in the binder with index cards and photographs, the remaining 4 do not [note: coin 1 is not photographed in binder]. There are two additional pages with images for Macedonian coins which are not being sold with the collection.
Lots 1-6 are sold alongside a detailed and annotated binder pertaining to the coins within each lot. Each binder is filled with handwritten index cards for each coin, tickets where applicable, photographs of the coins, provenances and values at time of purchase, and historical footnotes. Coins are listed in order as per the binder. An interesting and scholarly collection, an excellent opportunity for those beginning a collection, or as an accompanying piece to an established selection of coins from the ancient world. All are sold as seen.
