Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (26mm, 3.95 g, 6h). Class IIa. Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1294-1303. Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with six towers; sigla: uncertain / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael, kneeling to left and right respectively. Cf. DOC 235-61; PCPC 127 (uncertain sigla); LPC p. 62, 1; SB 2396. Clipped, areas of flat strike, light scratches. Near VF.
