Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (24mm, 4.37 g, 6h). Class IIb. Constantinople mint. Struck 1303-1320 (and later). Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: Γ | Λ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael, kneeling to left and right respectively. DOC –; PCPC 128 (sigla 22 var. [six towers]); LPC p. 62, 1; SB 2396. Toned, lightly clipped, extensive flan crack. Good VF.
