Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (20mm, 2.86 g, 6h). Class IIb. Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1325-1328 (or later). Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: (K) | Γ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II and Andronicus III, kneeling to left and right respectively. Cf. DOC 493-503 (unlisted sigla); PCPC 185 (sigla 27); LPC p. 108, 1; SB 2461. Clipped, large flan flaw, light graffiti on reverse. VF.
