Lower Canada Overstruck "J. Shaw & Co." Token ND (1837) VF30 Brown NGC, cf. Br-565 (for type), LC-19 (this piece cited). Faintly reeded edge. Coin alignment. Very weakly struck over an Irish 1/2 Penny of 1805 (cf. KM147.1), with most of the undertype visible. A most peculiar and by all indications unique specimen, this being the only example of the type noted as overstruck by Charlton, with the original Torex listing claiming this it is "no doubt unique." Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
