Lower Canada. Bank of Montreal copper "Side View" 1/2 Penny Token 1839 MS62 Brown NGC, Br-524, LC-10B1, Courteau-33 (R8). Plain edge. Coin alignment. Variety with roof pointing to L in Montreal, left fence with 15 palings, and low head beaver. Well struck, with notable mint luster around the peripheries. The reverse has a noticeable edge flaw, as struck, from 12 to 2 o'clock. Extremely elusive in this grade. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
