Obv: MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG G[E]RM Bust laureate, draped, cuirassed r., third portrait. Rx: [P]ROVIDENTIA AVG S - C Providentia standing l. holding wand over globe and cornucopia. Though common on denarii, this type is for an unknown reason rare on bronze coins of Maximinus'second issue, with victory title GERM in obverse legend. Not in the Paris collection by Cohen's day, nor in the BM by 1962. Only three specimens (Copenhagen, Milan, Peus Sale 284) were known to Alram in his MIR volume of 1989, p. 82. Absent from the Guelma hoard, which contained 54, 62, 42, 48, and 10 specimens respectively of the five other standard types in the same issue.
