L. Plautius Plancus. AR Denarius, 47 BC. Obv. Facing head of Medusa with dishevelled hair; below, L. PLAVTIVS. Rev. Aurora flying right, head facing slightly left, holding palm branch and reins in each hand and conducing four horses of the Sun; below, PL[ANCVS]. Cr. 453/1c; B. 14. AR. 3.77 g. 18.50 mm. An enchanting example, in exceptional state of preservation. Brilliant, superb and lightly toned, with lovely golden hues. Good EF. ���
