India ND (1954-57) P-46a PMG Very Fine 30 1000 Rupees
Difficult high denomination note issued back in the 1950s. this one issued for Bombay circle. Despite extensive ink stamps on the back (as is typical on high denomination notes of this era) the eye-appeal is still decent, and this would make for a good type representative. Interestingly, the ink stamps in the back are dated in the mid 1970s, indicating how long this type circulated and explaining why this type is virtually impossible to locate in higher grades (it was finally withdrawn in 1978). PMG mentions "Staple holes at issue, annotations, minor rust, stamp ink".
