ANCIENT COINS. Roman. Eudoxia (wife of Arcadius), Gold Solidus, mint of Constantinople, struck c. AD 402-403, AEL EVDO-XIA AVG, pearl-diademed and draped bust right, crowned by the Hand of God, rev SALVS REI PVBLICAE, Victory seated right on cuirass with a shield behind, inscribing Chi-Rho on shield, CONOB in exergue, 4.43g, 6h (RIC X 28). Two heavy scrapes on the obverse and two on the reverse, edge marks and traces of double-striking in exergue, otherwise good very fine, very rare.
