Representing the highest denomination from the 1944 to 1951 issue, the face of this large sized, well preserved Specimen note features the portrait of King John II of Portugal. The back vignette depicts the famous explorer Diogo Cao addressing the court of Joao II in Beja. A perforated "Specimen," DLR oval overprints, and serial number 10YV00000 are present on this eye appealing example.
