Portugal Banco de Portugal 1000 Escudos 2.4.1965 Pick 171 PMG Choice About Unc 58. For whatever reason, the 1965 1000 Escudos was an ill-fated banknote. Despite beautiful design elements on both sides, it had a short lifespan of less than than two years in circulation. In 1967, a completely new and different 1000 Escudos was issued, rendering this version obsolete. Dom Denis of the 13th century is portrayed at front. Pinholes are mentioned for accuracy.
