Spain Banco de Espana 100 Reales de Vellon 1.5.1862 Pick UNL Remainder PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 Net. Any extant banknote from the 1862 and 1866 series are a true prize, as anything pre-First Republic is seldom if ever seen. The gigantic Remainder is the initial denomination of the 1862 series, which was short-lived. According to printer records, only 150,000 notes were printed, and it can be assumed that the full run was not issued, hence this Remainder. An 1866 series supplemented this type, and both series were redeemed by 1873. Mount remnants are mentioned for accuracy on this otherwise handsome type. The back design is inverted purposely. The body of the note is problem-free.
