Dies attributed to Giovanni Cavino. 16th century, or later. · M · COMMODVS ANTONI NVS · AVG · PIVS · BRIT ·, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / · P M · TR · P · X · IMP · VI · COS · III · P · P ·, Salus seated left on throne, feeding serpent from patera; to left, cippus surmounted by soldier with spear; SALVS in exergue. Cf. Johnson & Martini 1774 (for type, but example in bronze; same dies); cf. Klawans 1 (same). EF, attractively toned, very slight double strike of border on reverse, minor chasing in obverse fields. An absolutely extraordinary struck example.
