Anv: Bust of Carlos IV with jacket, shirt with jabot and cloak, around the legend: CHARLES IV BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KING OF SPAIN AND EMPERIES OF THE INDIES. Rev: Shield crowned with a jar of lilies and the five wounds of San Francisco, on the left Mercury supported with petaso and caduceus, at his feet attributes of science, art and commerce, behind a castle with a tower and flag raised and on the right, war frigate, around legend: TO ITS PROCLAMATION THE CONSULATE OF MEXICO, in exergue: YEAR OF 1789.
