Anonymous issues. temp. Tiberius, AD 14-37. Æ Tessera (19mm, 2.92 g, 4h). Erotic scene with a male figure lying face down on a couch, resting on left elbow and looking back at female (?) partner behind him / VIIII within pearl border and wreath. Campana, Spintriae obv. die 24/XIIII; Simonetta & Riva 13/D; Buttrey 7/VIIII; Ars Classica XI, (18 June 1925), lot 1066 (same dies). Brown patina, light porosity, spots of corrosion. Fine. Extremely rare – only the Ars Classica specimen recorded for these dies.
