Henry I (1100-35), silver Penny, pointing bust and stars type (c.1107), London Mint, moneyer Sigar, facing crowned bust with left arm pointing finger right, holding fleured sceptre in right hand, bust extending to bottom of coin, three stars in field above pointing hand, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding, +hENRI REX, rev. cross pattée over saltire cross with four annulet terminals, large pellet or rounded star in each angle, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding, +SIGAR. ON: LVN, 1.29g (BMC type VI – cf.37; N.862; S.1267). Attractive dark tone, reverse a touch off-centre with slight bend in the flan, a clearly struck coin, good very fine for issue and extremely rare.

Found near Fyfield, Epping Forest district, Essex in September 2020 and recorded on the Early Medieval Corpus as 2020.0316.
