Bearing a choice grade for this often circulated type, a superior specimen with abundant lustre and only one prominent obverse scratch preventing an even higher level of certification, graded by NGC as MS63.

The 1887 gold Two Pounds was only the second currency piece ever produced, with the previous being that dated 1823 in the reign of George IV; and was minted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Victoria's reign.
