Edward III (1327-1377), Treaty-Period, Noble, 1361-1369, Class II, Calais, voided quatrefoil before EDWARD (above sail), EDW | ARD' DI GRA REX AnGL + FRAnC DnS hIB + AQVIT, saltire thereafter, flag at stern, ropes 3/1, ornaments 1-1-1-1, quatrefoils 5/4, single saltire stops, rev. + IhC : AVTEM : TRAnSIEnS : PER : MEDIVM : ILLORVM : IBAT, double saltire stops, floriated cross, crowned leopards in angles, trefoil-tipped voided quatrefoil with E• at centre, pellets flank upper lis, 7.63g, 5h, i.m. cross pattée (Isladulcie 44; Schneider I, 115; North 1281; Spink 1521), lightly cleaned with some staining, otherwise on a beautifully round and uniformly struck up fan, softness to portrait otherwise immensely pleasing, a handsomely bold very fine, rare.
