William and Mary (1688-1694), Guinea, 1689, conjoined laureate busts right, rev. sixth crowned garnished shield, with pearls and four interior lines, square-topped Scottish frame, late Irish harp, six strings, edge obliquely milled, 8.39g, 7h (Farey 312 [ER]; EGC - [cf. 360] ~ Bull 6n [4W4]; MCE 148; cf. Schneider II, 467; Spink 3426), lightly wiped with traces of flecking to fields and adjustment to William's cheek, otherwise lustrous with vibrant flashy surfaces, most handsomely balanced on account of a central striking and even peripheral milling seldom encountered on the early Guinea series, a bold very fine, a very rare variety.
