Since the name of the country and its currency had yet to be determined, these notes are denominated in Palestine pounds and mils. The Banknote Ordinance was sanctioned on 16 August 1948, and issuance began the next morning, printed by American Bank Note Company, beautiful and rare. Subject to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium.
